This is the core of the inventory management in ColivHQ. From the Homes menu item you can add homes, review and edit details about them, add rooms and bed records, as well as manage the pictures for the ColivHQ's content management system (CMS) and third party listings.


There are three steps to add a home to the inventory and make it available for use:

  1. Creating a new home
  2. Adding a new room
  3. Publishing a home


Adding one or more rooms is not required. Each home can be listed as a whole or as rooms (and beds). You can set the Listing type field on the Home record for this. Similarly, a room could be rented as a whole room or could be shared between two or more people. The Type field on the Room record set this. If the type is Master or Common the room will not be shared and will not have Bed records on it.


In addition to details about the home, home and room records have pictures, which will be served by ColivHQ's CMS to any third party that you wish to connect, including your own website or listing services. The CMS will create multiple versions of the pictures that you are uploading, to serve the right version and optimise the online experience of the end user (for desktops, tables, or phones). From your account setting page, you can add different settings of the pictures that you would like to serve  and you can create one or more API keys to connect third parties to your CMS.
